Loading a search window errors with 'An Error occured applying the Custom XML definition to the grid Default ...'
Problem
A user using a specific search e.g. "Name" query search for Debtor Maintenance or Sales Order entry creating a new sales orders and loading the search window to select a debtor receives this error.
"Error: An Error occurred applying the Custom XML definition to the grid Default. As a result, the standard non-custom grid definition will be used.
Module: Setup Complete"
Solution
The user has turned on Use Custom Columns in search windows and this feature is not supported The issue has been logged for review in a release post 7.00.175 under DEV-5704. Turn off Use Custom Columns in the search window for that user and the issue disappears.
