Why do I need to activate a Manual Back Order Release batch

What is the reason for activating these batches?
Answer
Recent changes were made to back order processing and this meant that the Manual Back Order Release module needed to be re-worked. This now means that if there is a failure during the fulfilment/save of a single sales order on the batch, the error is written against the batch line, but the save of the batch continues on to the next sales order. The batch will always save unless there is a problem with the batch save code itself. This required the introduction of a batch status.
Two new buttons now appear in the ribbon on this form - Activate and Auto Activate Upon Save.
When the batch has been activated the status is displayed - top right corner
