Why are there 2 sales reports - Sales with COGS by Inventory Class-Current and Class-History
Question
There are two sales order reports - SOMGT052-Sales with COGS by Inventory Class-Current and SOMGT054-Sales with COGS by Inventory Class-History. Apart from displaying the parameter selections in a different sequence on screen, they appear to provide exactly the same information. Is this correct?
Answer
As lines are added to sales orders the classification Description, not the ID is populated into the tables SO_Lines. If the classification Description is changed, existing sales orders are not updated with the new Description - hence the need for the 2 reports. If the classification Description has never been altered, the reports will give exactly the same result.
