How do I define page settings, tray etc for a printer in Windows

Question

Where can I set specific information about my printer?

Answer

There are actually a number of places where you need to define settings for a printer (ie. Page Size).  These places are:

1.  Start->Printers And Faxes.  Right-Click on printer and choose "Printing Preferences...".  You need to adjust the appropriate settings (ie. page size, tray, etc.) on the "Advanced" Tab, and the "Paper/Quality" Tab.

 2.  Start->Printers And Faxes.  Right-Click on printer and choose "Properties".  Go to the "General" Tab, and click on the "Printing Preferences" button.  Adjust the appropriate settings (ie. page size, tray, etc.) on the resultant "Advanced" Tab and "Paper/Quality" Tab.

 3.  Start->Printers And Faxes.  Right-Click on printer and choose "Properties".  Go to the "Advanced" Tab, and click on the "Printing Defaults..." button.  Adjust the appropriate settings (ie. page size, tray, etc.) on the resultant "Advanced" Tab and "Paper/Quality" Tab.

 4.  Start->Printers And Faxes.  Right-Click on printer and choose "Properties".  Go to the "Device Settings" Tab, and adjust the appropriate settings (ie. page size, tray, etc.).

Note:  There are various different settings available in these areas, but more often than not you will find Tray Settings and Page Size settings.  The settings vary depending on the printer driver you have installed but should generally be the same.
