Deleting back orders on a warehouse transfer outwards form

Question

Back orders exist from a Warehouse Transfer Outwards record and are no longer needed.  How do they get deleted?

No In Transit Warehouse

Answer

To cancel back order records created by a Warehouse Transfer Outwards form, follow these steps:

  • Load the relevant warehouse transfer outwards form

  • Change the Quantity Ordered to Quantity Trans. and the Quantity Back Ordered is set to '0'

  • Save changes

Back order record is now cancelled

In Transit Warehouse

Where an In Transit warehouse is used, the steps to follow are the same as detailed above . The status of the Warehouse Transfer Outwards is changed from In Transit to Closed.

When the Warehouse Transfer Inwards form is activated with all stock being received that has been transferred and Close Transfer check box is ticked

a message is displayed. OK will change the Status of the warehouse transfer outwards to Closed and still leave the Quantity Ordered editable.

If the Warehouse Transfer Inwards receives all transferred stock but does NOT tick the Close Transfer box, the status of the warehouse transfer outwards remains as In Transit. Another Warehouse Transfer Inwards needs to be created for the source Warehouse Transfer Outwards

  • create a new Warehouse Transfer Inwards

  • 0 Quantity Received and tick Close Transfer box

  • save and activate and click OK to the question ‘Back ordered stock exists. Do you still want to close the transfer?’

  • the status of the Warehouse Transfer Outwards is changed from In Transit to Closed
