Search window functionality includes:
Ribbon and / or Toolbar
[Enter] key jumps to the next column in the criteria grid
[Tab] key jumps into the results pane where the arrow keys and Page Up and Page Down scroll through the results
Function Keys in Search
There are function keys in the search window that perform the actions detailed in the screen shot below.
Search Types
- Matches records starting FROM the data keyed in the Match field. Searching for an inventory item and typing in DEC in the part number field will display all items that start with DEC onwards.
- Matches records starting WITH the data keyed in the Match field. Searching for an inventory item and typing in DEC in the part number field will display ONLY items that start with DEC.
- Matches records CONTAINING the data keyed in the Match field. Searching for an inventory item and typing in ‘tube’ in the Description field will display items that CONTAIN ‘tube’ anywhere in the Description field. Refine the search by entering in more criteria e.g. ‘fluor’ and ‘led’. Records that contain all three criteria are returned to the grid. Click on the ‘&’ to change it to ‘O’ and all records that contain the Description ‘tube’ or ‘fluor’ or ‘led’ are displayed. A really powerful way to search for the item you want.
System-wide Search
The search text box in the bottom left of your Jiwa screen allows you to input any search term for a system-wide search of that term.
Input your search term, then click the search icon. This will open up the Search form and list all possible forms containing that term. The system-wide Search form can also be launched from the menu: System Settings > Search > Search.
The areas in Jiwa where that are subject to search can be found under the Search Item Maintenance form and include: sales orders, purchase orders, contacts, creditors, BOM, Work Orders, Purchase Invoices, Quotes, Service Manager jobs, Stock Transfers, Supplier Returns, Inventory and so on.
