Part numbers changing on sales orders, quotes, purchase orders, shipments and bookins
Problem
Unexplained Part Number changes on a sales orders, quotes, purchase orders or shipments over time. Reported in 7.00.129, 7.00.149, 7.00.157 and 7.00.175.
An item description may be associated with a different part number on these forms.
Solution
When this plugin 'Inventory Maintenance - Rename Part No.' is enabled, and the inventory maintenance form is loaded twice, saving an inventory item on the most recently loaded inventory maintenance form will rename the part no. of the first form incorrectly in related tables.
SQL skills are required
A working knowledge of SQL Management Studio is required to complete this task.
The plugin has been corrected and two versions attached to this article. Plugin 'Plugin Inventory Maintenance - Rename Part No' for 7.01.00 databases. '157_or_175 Plugin Inventory Maintenance - Rename Part No.' for 7.00.157 and 7.00.175 databases. Import the applicable plugin. The issue has been corrected in 7.01.01 under DEV-6516.
I recommend installing it at all your clients just in case its gets enabled before they are upgraded to 7.01.01
To identify and correct existing data issues, scripts are attached that are to be run in two parts - the first to list part numbers impacted and the second to correct. Run as required.
