From time to time users may want to use the email addresses in Jiwa stored against the suppliers and customers to bulk email flyers, promotions etc.

 

Step-by-step guide

One way of doing that is using Excel to connect to the SQL database and extract the relevant data needed.

  • Create a new Excel spreadsheet
  • Get External Data > From Other Sources > From SQL Server


  • Select Microsoft SQL Server



  • Type in the server name,  user name (JiwaUser) and password (JiwaFinancials123) and then Next



  • Select the database and select the relevant table e.g. CR_Main for creditors, DB_Main for debtors and next

  • Type in a Description for this connection and Finish and OK



  • Data is populated into the grid



  • Remove unwanted columns and Save As and give the file an appropriate name
