From time to time users may want to use the email addresses in Jiwa stored against the suppliers and customers to bulk email flyers, promotions etc.

 

Step-by-step guide

One way of doing that is using Excel to connect to the SQL database and extract the relevant data needed.

  1. Create a new Excel spreadsheet
  2. Get External Data > From Other Sources > From SQL Server
     
  3. Select Microsoft SQL Server

  4. Type in the server name,  user name (JiwaUser) and password (JiwaFinancials123) and then Next

  5.  

  6. Select the database and select the relevant table e.g. CR_Main for creditors, DB_Main for debtors and next

  7. Type in a Description for this connection and Finish and OK

     

  8. Data is populated into the grid



  9. Remove unwanted columns and Save As and give the file an appropriate name
