Move stock from one bin location to another bin

Question

Client uses bin locations and needs an easy way to move stock from one location to another in the same warehouse.  What options are there?

These actions are applicable where the system setting in Inventory > BinLocationMode is set to Change from Lookup

There are at least two ways to do this - stock transfers or directly in the S.O.H. tab of the inventory item.  

We'll follow this example through of moving 6 of the 15 for this part number that was received on 'Received on 0000000003' from Bin 3 to Bin 2

Stock Transfers

  1. Load the Stock Transfer form and display the From Bin Location and To Bin Location fields

  2. From Part No and select 1140006 and the relevant line of stock (From Bin field is automatically populated and cannot be changed)

  3. To Part No and select 1140006 and select To Part Bin Location from the search window select Bin 2

  4. Type in 6 in Transfer Quantity

  5. Save and activate

  6. Stock on hand
