Jiwa 7.02.01.22

Naming Change

Service releases are now identified by looking at the 4th digit of the version number, i.e. 07.02.01.22. A change in only the 4th digit of the version number means there are no database changes and implies that this is a service release.

Installer Change

The installer for service releases are now full installs, not just patches.

The installer uninstalls whatever 7.2.1.0 SR and 7.2.1.0 base install are present and installs itself.

It is a complete installer, not just a patch - a 7.2.1.0 base install is no longer required.

A new user can just install “Jiwa 7.2.1.22 Setup.exe” and they are good to go (previously they would have to install 7.2.1.0, and then the desired SR .msp file).

To roll back this SR, one would uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs, then re-install 7.2.1.0 base, and then install the 7.2.1.0 SR that is desired (ie. 7.2.1.0 SR21).

Potential Breaking Changes

A previous service release, 07.02.01 SR 15, introduced a potential breaking change to plugins which extend the REST API.  As this Service Release, 07.02.01.22, includes those changes upgrading to 07.02.01.22 may expose you to breaking changes.  See the breaking changes section of the Jiwa 7.02.01.00 Service Release 15 article for details.

It is also advisable to update the REST API to the version shipped with 07.02.01.22 - see the section below on Obtaining the latest REST API.

About Service Releases

Jiwa 7 Service Releases are cumulative, and later Service Releases supersede earlier Service Releases.

This means you only need to install the most recent Service Release to obtain all the fixes of previous Service Releases.  Installing a later Service Release will automatically remove older Service Releases.

Where to Obtain

The service release is obtained from the Downloads page of the new Jiwa Customer Portal.

How to Install

Typically, the .exe file, once downloaded can by run simply by double-clicking the file to run. If upgrading from a previous version it is advised to make a backup of config files (i.e. JiwaAPISelfHostedService.exe.config, JiwaPluginSchedulerService.exe.config) and put them back in place after installation.

Solutions in Addition to Service Release

REST API

The minimum version of the REST API plugin for 07.02.01.22 is 7.2.1.54. The version deployed in the package with this release is 7.2.1.67.

When importing the plugin for use, don’t forget to enable it.

Obtaining the latest REST API

As service releases cannot make database changes, to obtain the latest REST API plugin, you must extract it from the IIS Web package which is updated in this Service Release.

The web package is located in the Program Files (x86)\Jiwa Financials\Jiwa 7\JiwaAPI folder and is named JiwaAPI.zip. Extract the contents of this archive to a folder and locate the Plugin REST API.xml and import this into Jiwa using the Plugin Maintenance form.

NOTE: Using the latest REST API plugin will require all clients to have the same Service Release installed, as the plugin is dependent on changes only introduced in this Service Release.
