Emailing remittance advices

In version 7 emailing of remittance advices to supplier (creditors) can only be performed when paying using the EFT / Cheque Payments form.

Remittance advice emails are configured in Creditors > Configuration > Cheque Payment Email Templates. Your standard template will use the ‘email to’ address as the email address in the header of the creditor record. This is the same email address that is used by default for the emailing of purchase orders. What if you want to send POs to one email address and remittances to another.

The attached non-standard plugin, called Override Creditor Remittance Email To Address, will use the email address attached to the contact, where any position (primary, secondard, tertiary) is ‘Remittance Advice’, instead of the email address in the header. If no position exists for that supplier, it will use the header email.

  1. Import the plugin and make sure its enabled

  2. Create a new Contact Position called ‘Remittance Advice’

  3. Assign that position to the contact on the creditor record.
